Band Trip Edmonton 2018
The BJHS Band department in partnership with the NCBA are proud to offer to our band students a chance to participate in another great band trip! This year the BJHS Senior Concert Band (Grade 8 and 9) will be traveling to take part in the Edmonton Cantando Music Festival, April 15-17th 2018. This is one of Alberta’s premier band festivals and includes a private adjudication session and private master classes at the University of Alberta with some of the most experienced professional musicians working today. The itinerary and activities are still being worked on and will be forwarded once they are complete.

All Taxes and GST as applicable At this time, we require all students who plan to join us to submit a $50 nonrefundable registration fee to attend this trip. Any student who is in grade 8 or 9 Band and plan to attend needs to submit the permission form and fee by September 29th. This deposit will be considered a down payment for the trip and will be deducted from the trip cost. Make any cheques payable to the NCBA. All deposits are non-refundable. The tour cost is $320 per student but the actual final cost will be determined after all fundraising efforts have concluded this year and have been deducted from the students who take part. At this point I would estimate a savings of around $100 – $150 off of the actual cost, so most students could travel for around $200. This trip is also being offered to all students in the BJHS extracurricular stage band program that regularly attend practices on Friday mornings at 8:00. At this time we are calling for available parents to attend as chaperones. There are a limited amount of available spots for parent chaperones. Chaperone cost will be less than the student cost as the NCBA will cover transportation costs for all eligible parent volunteers.
